- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has suggested that the US’s Pacifico Energy company expand investment and collaboration with Vietnamese businesses in green transformation, clean energy, and renewable energy, particularly offshore wind and solar power projects.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh receives Nate Franklin, Chairman of US’s Pacifico Energy

During a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for PE Chairman Nate Franklin,Mr. Chinh urged the company to invest in Vietnam’s electricity grid and transmission infrastructure to bolster energy security, to transfer advanced technology to support Vietnam’s clean and renewable energy development, and to help train high-quality human resources.

As Vietnam and the US have a complementary economic relationship, PM Chinh asked PE to advocate for removing Vietnam from the US list of nations with restricted access to high-tech exports and recognizing Vietnam as a market economy.

Franklin praised Vietnam’s leaders for improving the business environment and assisting the business community. He said Vietnam possesses advantageous wind energy resources, with its long coastline, strong winds, and seabed topography well-suited for offshore wind farm construction.
