Bac Lieu festival showcases Vietnamese salt Friday, March 7, 2025 | 19:21:29 - The Vietnam-Bac Lieu Salt Festival 2025 opened Thursday in the Mekong Delta city of Bac Lieu, celebrating a century of salt making and its vital role in Vietnamese culture. Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha and other officials launch the Vietnam-Bac Lieu Salt Festival on March 6, 2025. In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha noted the importance of this festival as a platform for connecting salt producers, processors, and consumers. He said he hopes these connections will strengthen supply chains, diversify salt-based products, and promote the cultural and economic values of Vietnamese salt. "Although salt grains are small, they embody the vitality of Vietnam’s land and people. This festival marks a milestone for the Government, localities, and salt farmers in working together to bring Vietnamese salt to the world. The salt industry is not just a heritage—it’s a foundation for both economic growth and cultural preservation, paving the way for a new era," said Deputy PM Ha. The festival, which will run until Saturday, will feature art performances and exhibitions of salt, spices, and OCOP items. Visitors can take guided tours to historical sites and participate in workshops on developing Bac Lieu’s salt tourism industry.
